So Lonely

Written by Rocky Sanders

Rain pours down from darkened clouds.
Reflection of my heart.
Emptiness around the soul.
Raindrops fill the gaps.
You move on,
Your life evolves.
It’s not you, it’s me.
I wave from my shadowed space,
Don’t stop for me,
I’ll see you around.

How do I say I’m lonely,
Without hurting you?
How do I say I’m lonely,
When it’s nothing you say or do?
Why is my heart so lonely?
Why can’t I readjust?
It shouldn’t be hard,
I know it’s just me.
But why…
Do I feel so lonely?

Canyon wide splits me from you.
Chasm of my heart.
Darkened void within the fog.
No bridge to walk across.
You move on,
Your life evolves.
It’s not you, it’s me.
I wave from my shadowed space,
Don’t stop for me,
I’ll see you around.

How do I say I’m lonely,
Without hurting you?
How do I say I’m lonely,
When it’s nothing you say or do?
Why is my heart so lonely?
Why can’t I readjust?
It shouldn’t be hard,
I know it’s just me.
But why…
Do I feel so lonely?

Time moves on without a trace,
People, places, memories.
Locked against immobile bounds,
I seem to be alone.
Watching as the world goes by,
I’m alone in this place.
Everyone moves faster still,
While I remain.

How do I say I’m lonely,
Without hurting you?
How do I say I’m lonely,
When it’s nothing you say or do?
Why is my heart so lonely?
Why can’t I readjust?
It shouldn’t be hard,
I know it’s just me.
But why…
Do I feel so lonely?
